Iowa Regional Lily Society

The Iowa Regional Lily Society held it's 34th Annual Lily Show on
June 23 and 24, 2007 at the
Merle Hay Mall, 
Des Moines, Iowa.

  • The Robert Russell Award for the Best Lily in the Show went to Calvin Helsley for 'Pizzazz'.
  • Runner up Best of Show Award went to Jayne Venard for 'Kentucky'.
  • The Bertha Remele Russell Award for the Best Trumpet Lily in the Show went to Calvin Helsley for 'Serena Green'. 
  • The IRLS Founders Award for the greatest number of Blue Ribbons went to Jayne Venard.
  • The Hartle-Gilman Award went to Deb Hull for 'Timepiece'.
  • The Iowa Regional Lily Society Award for the Best Iowa Grown Out facing Asiatic Hybrid Lily-Division 1b:  went to 'Buffy'  grown by Florence Vander Meiden.
  • The Ramona Venard Artistic Award for the Best Artistic Arrangement of Show went to Sandy Quam for her 'Pepsico Sculpture Gardens' entry.
  • The Container Merit Award for the Best Lily grown in a container in Iowa went to 'Landini' grown by Chuck Fuson.
  • The Chuck and Dode Fuson Award for the Best 1a Iowa Grown Up-facing Asiatic Hybrid Lily in the Show went to 'Elode', a double Asiatic grown by Wanda Lunn.
  • The Jeri Brodeen Award for the Best Down-Facing Asiatic Lily Division 1c went to 'Sally', grown by Chuck Fuson.
  • The Beverly Ann Pous Seedling Award for the Best Seedling grown from seed by Exhibitor went to Chuck Fuson for 'Seedling 8250'.
  • The Vander Meiden Award for 3 stems of the same Clone, Strain or Species went to 'Mona Lisa', grown by Carol Main.
  • The Novice Award went to Wanda Lunn as the First Time Exhibitor with the most Blue Ribbons.
  • The Venard Family Award for the stem with the highest Bud Count went to 'Peanuts', grown by Calvin Helsley.
  • The Williams Award went to 'Kentucky' grown and exhibited by Jayne Venard as the Best Registered Speckled Lily in the Show.
  • The Popularity Poll elected 'American Dream' as the Public's  Favorite Lily at the Show.
  • IRLS extends it's sincere thanks to the many members who participated in various ways to make this Lily Show one of the best ever.
